The XX Intellectual Property Forum was held in Moscow

The company “Zuykov and partners” was a general sponsor of the XX Intellectual Property Forum, which was held at the Hilton Moscow Leningradskaya Hotel on 21-22 March, 2019.

The visitors and participants of the event were discussing the latest changes in the protection and defence of intellectual property, and also were holding lively discussions about settling complex and conflict legal issues in this area.

The forum program included sessions, master classes and thematic parallel flows. As the main topics of the forum, the organizers outlined the following:

·       The digitalization and defence of intellectual property;

·       The fight against unfair competitors;

·       The intellectual property defence strategies in Russia and other countries;

·       The commercialization of the intellectual property rights: accounting and evaluation;

·       The protection of the IT solutions and others.

On the first day of the meeting, the sessions were held on the management and disposal of intellectual property, as well as on the use of the results of intellectual activity in the digital space. During the parallel flows, the speakers represented the reports on the defence of trademarks, inventions, technologies and the IT solutions.

On March 22, the leading experts in the intellectual property field held individual consultations for the forum delegates. Then the session on the defence of the rights to the results of intellectual activity on the Internet was held, during which the patent attorney of the Russian Federation, the Eurasian patent attorney Sergey Zuykov, the Director of the company “Zuykov and partners” was speaking. Also, the forum visitors had an opportunity to attend the session with the participation of the Head of the legal department “Zuykov and Partners” Alexandra Pelikh, who spoke about the use of intellectual property in advertising and on the defense of the personal data. At the end of the event, two master classes were held aimed at obtaining and improving the skills in evaluating and commercializing the rights to the results of intellectual activity and at building a comprehensive strategy for the defence of intellectual property.

According to the preliminary information, 87% of the audience was made up of the business representatives, what is evidenced by an active use of the results of intellectual activity in the business sphere. Obviously, the issues raised at the forum are closely related to commerce; however, this does not exclude the usefulness of the knowledge gained at the meeting for the professionals working in the field of the protection and defence of intellectual property.
