The International Conference on Intellectual Property at the Skolkovo Innovation Center

The lawyers of the company “Zuykov and Partners” visited the Patent School Skolkovo, which took placeduring two days in November. In terms of the number of participants and the diversity of representativesfrom various countries, the event is considered to be the largest one in Russia and the CIS countries.On the first day, the visitors of the Conference obtained the current information about the features of theexamination of the patent law subject matters, as well as about the disputes in the field of intellectualrights. During the sessions, the speakers made the reports on the latest changes of the norms relating tothe protection of intellectual property in the international pharmaceutical industry; the specifics ofpatenting in the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology; the balance between the publication activity andpatenting; the high-tech services that can protect the copyright and other equally interesting themes.The organizers of the event suggested that the second day should be devoted to the discussions about thetrends in the international law and the foreign countries legislation. Those present discussed the featuresof patenting under the PCT system, the dynamics of the development of patent law of Japan and theEuropean Union. During the round table, the patent search and analysis system PatScape was discussed.A visit to the Patent School allows the participants to learn the new information and to obtain theknowledge, the uniqueness of which is due to the qualification and professionalism of the examinersspeaking at the Conference held at the Technopark Skolkovo.
