The International Conference “The Defence of the Intellectual Property Rights” took place in Saint Petersburg

The representatives of the company “Zuykov and Partners” participated in the Conference “The Defence of the Intellectual Property Rights” on April 11 and 12. The event takes place annually during 8 years, and the last 3 years it has a status of an International Conference.

On the first day of the meeting, the speakers spoke in the format of sessions and parallel flows. Those present discussed the counteractions against unfair competition within the framework of the patent, copyright and related rights. Sergey Zuykov gave a report on the topic of: “How to suppress the actions of unfair competition? The legal methods of the struggle against unfair competition,” in which he gave the examples of the judicial practice of the company “Zuykov and Partners” related to the defence of intellectual property subject matters against the actions of unfair competitors. Alexandra Pelikh, the head of the legal department of the company “Zuykov and Partners,” also spoke at one of the sessions. Alexandra devoted her report to a comparative analysis of the scope of the legal protection of industrial designs, trademarks and the copyright subject matters.During the parallel flows, the conference participants got acquainted with the positions of the practicing lawyers on the struggle against the counterfeit products, the protection of IT-solutions and the disputes in the pharmaceutical industry.

The second day of the event was devoted to the discussions on the theoretical and practical aspects of the defence of intellectual property in the context of an active use of the Internet. The speakers and the listeners discussed the struggle against the offenses on the Internet, the use of the personal data and the advanced technologies, trends for the application and defence of the results of the intellectual activity and the means of individualization in the digital environment, as well as other issues. At the end of the day, a session devoted to transactions, taxation and the management of the intellectual property subject matters took place.

The event organizers had drafted the Conference program taking into account the most pressing issues in the field of intellectual property: the counteractions against unfair competition, the manufacture of the counterfeit production and the illegal use on the Internet, the subtleties of patenting, as well as the economic aspects of using the results of the intellectual activity and the means of individualization. Thanks to this, those present received the necessary information, as well as the advices and explanations on the peculiarities of the protection and defence of intellectual property.
