The International Conference “Branding Style: Appearance, Aesthetics and Éclat” has been held in Paris

The representatives of the company “Zuykov and Partners” participated in the four-dayconference of the Association of Right Holders of Trademarks Marques in September. Every dayof the event was dedicated to the issues, which were united with by a common topic. Forexample, on September 19, on Wednesday, the speakers'; speeches were related to the creation ofvarious subject mattes capable of giving companies with a priority place in the conditions of anactively developing competitive market. These include: a manufacturing secret, a trademark, anindustrial design and others. The changes in the legislation of the European Union werediscussed during the panel discussions on Thursday. The speakers presented the latestinformation on the results of the use of the EU legal norms in the field of registration andprotection of non-traditional designations as trademarks, as well as on the copyright reform inthe EU and the impact of these changes on the trademark industry. The court practice of theCourt of Justice of the European Union and the General Court of the European Union wasoffered for the participants for review on the conference’s last day. The speakers noted that morethan 300 cases in the field of intellectual property were considered during the period from 2017to 2018. Round tables were held at the conference. The audience was offered to discuss variousissues: geographical indications and brands; the legislation on protection of competition and onprotection of the consumers'; rights; the well-known trademarks in China; the entry into force ofthe General Data Protection Regulation in the EU and its impact on business; mediation intrademarks disputes; licensing of brands and many others. The participants of the eventexchanged their experience and the relevant information, the knowledge of which is necessaryfor successful protection and defence of intellectual property.
