Trademark iBank was recognized as the well-known mark

The Federal Service for intellectual property (FIPS) Rospatent recognized trademark iBank owned by JSC "BIFIT" as the well-known mark. This step will allow the company engaged in the development, implementation and maintenance of software for electronic banking to increase the level of brand protection.

The trademark registration took less than a year. The company, whose interests were represented by lawyers of OOO "Zuykov & partners", has filed an application in FIPS in September 2016. On May 11 Rospatent made a decision to recognize the designation iBank as a well-known trademark. The legal protection of well-known trademark is termless. Starting from now any designation similar to iBank could not be used for any types of activities. The production of goods or services under this trademark will be prosecuted by law, due to it may prejudice the legitimate interests of the owner of the well-known designation.

Today in Russia there are about 600,000 registered trademarks. Less than 200 trademarks are recognized as well-known. The designation iBank have been recognized as the well-known for the goods belong to the MKTU class 09, in particular: software in the field of banking services and computer programs in the field of banking services.
