T2 Mobile has filed two lawsuits against PJSC VimpelCom, the company operating Beeline, in the Moscow Arbitration Court. T2 offers a multi-subscription service called Mixx, while in March 2026, Beeline launched a subscription service with a similar name.
The claimant fears that the defendant’s actions could lead to subscriber churn. T2 believes that its competitor not only rebranded its “Popcorn” application into one confusingly similar to the operator’s “Mix” trademarks, but also began following T2’s strategy of introducing a multi-subscription service with a broad range of offerings.
For this reason, T2 is demanding that Beeline’s use of the designations “Mix Subscription” and “MIX” be recognized as an act of unfair competition and prohibited in the provision of multi-service offerings. In addition, T2 is asking the court to confirm the infringement of the company’s exclusive rights to several trademarks. These trademarks are registered under Class 38 of the Nice Classification.
The issue of the uniqueness of T2’s trademarks could become grounds for an objection from Beeline filed with the Chamber for Patent Disputes of Rospatent, says patent attorney and managing partner of Zuykov and partners, Sergey Zuykov. It is also possible that the court may conclude that consumers can distinguish between the services of T2 and Beeline, allowing both to coexist in the market without harming one another, concluded Lidings senior lawyer Vladislav Ryabov.
