Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry held a discussion of relevant draft laws in the IP field

On February 7, 2024, a meeting of the Working Group on Improving IP Legislation and Law Enforcement Practice under the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on Intellectual Property was held.

The participants discussed the following laws:

1. draft Federal Law No. 479514-8 "On Amendments to Part Four of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation" (on Co-ownership/Shared Ownership of an Exclusive Right),
2. draft Federal Law No. 01/05/01-24/00144768 "On Amendments to Articles 1252 and 1515 of Part Four of the Civil Code of the Russian Federation",
3. and quality regulation of the regional brand products.

The meeting was attended by:

• Sergey Zuykov, Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation on Intellectual Property, Head of the Working Group on Improving Intellectual Property Legislation and Law Enforcement Practice,
• Ruslan Malkov, Deputy Chairman of the Council for Intellectual Property of the CCI of the Russian Federation, Head of the Working Group on Business Assistance in the IP Development in the regions,
• Anatoly Semenov, Deputy Chairman of the Intellectual Property Council of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs.

Representatives of Rospatent also took part in the work of the group. Following the meeting, it is planned to summarize the proposals on the above-mentioned bills.
