The Klyuchavto trademark became the subject of a dispute between two Russian companies

The Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory has satisfied the claim of SBSV-Klyuchavto Group LLC against the Donetsk company Klyuch Avto Donetsk for the termination of the use of the Klyuchavto verbal trademark. According to the court's decision, the ban applies to the use of the disputed designation in the company's brand name, on signage, letterheads, and other documentation, as well as in advertisements, on goods, and packaging.

In March 2025, Klyuch Avto Donetsk announced that the company had rebranded and was now called CAD Motors.

Sergey Zuykov, patent attorney, managing partner of Zuykov and partners, noted that if the defendant files a complaint against the court's decision with the court of appeal, his chances of winning will directly depend on whether the Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory has taken into account the provisions of the law on the integration of the Donetsk and Lugansk republics in the Russian Federation. "This law contains provisions on preferential intellectual property rights for companies from integrated territories. It may well turn out that the defendant has such a pre-emptive right, which the court of first instance did not take into account," the lawyer said.
